ST11 Trial Label Print & Verify Station

ST11 Trial Label Print & Verify Station

100% label artwork verification for batch or on-demand printing

Every label in a clinical trial has to be exactly right, and the ST11 is built to help ensure it is. It pairs high-precision trial label printing with self-trained, vision-based verification in a single compact station, pulling patient- and batch-specific data straight from your Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and label management solution to generate each label on demand. The ST11 prints it, inspects 100% of the content—text, barcodes, and print quality—and reports the result back to your MES. Built around the variability clinical trial labeling brings, with small batches and frequent changes, ST11 supports both on-demand and batch printing, with built-in, automatic reprint handling for any label that doesn’t pass.

Common Challenges Today

Clinical trial labeling carries unique risk: small, frequently changing batches, patient- and country-specific data, and strict regulatory requirements around data integrity and traceability. Manual vision training and pixel-by-pixel label comparison slow teams down and introduce risk of costly labeling errors.

The ST11 is built to solve the challenges clinical trial teams commonly face today:

  • Manual vision system training required for every label variation
  • Slow, error-prone manual pixel or PDF comparison workflows
  • Disconnected batch printing and failure-review processes
  • Inconsistent handling of patient-specific and dynamic label data
  • Limited traceability between MES, label management, and print/inspection results

Key Highlights

  • Fully integrated label printing and 100% vision-based verification in a single station
  • Automatic vision teach-in with no manual training required per label variation
  • Inspection setup generated directly from label artwork and variable data, with full label content verified against a reference image
  • Optical Character Verification (OCV) of variable data such as patient number, serial number, expiry and batch
  • GS1 barcode verification for 1D and 2D codes, with optional ISO 15415/15416 compliance
  • Peel-Off Mode for on-demand printing and Rewind Mode for batch printing to an external rewinder
  • Automatic retry and reprint for failed inspections, with optional manual acceptance after defined retry limits
  • Interfaces to MES and cloud or on-premises trial label management solutions
